What should I know about the truffle?
Different varieties of truffle with a different gastronomic value whose properties and quality are among the most appreciated by the culinary industry can be found in the market. In the case of Black truffle -winter truffle- its official name is Tuber Melanosporum and it must be identified as this in the purchase and shipping processes. Similarly other species such as the so called White Truffle officially named Tuber Magnatum whose name should appear on the labels.
How to preserve truffle and how long do I have to consume?
Once the truffle is at home, you should keep it in the fridge. It is convenient to keep it at a temperature between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius and not let more than four days to try the product.
When you consider that the product is not being consumed immediately, keep it in an airtight container and and wrap it in a paper towel that should be change in order to remove moisture, so the truffle will conserve better its properties and quality.
Can the truffle be damaged and lose quality during the transportation?
Fresh truffle is a perishable product but it retains its own freshness during a week from its collect. Once the truffle is collected we send it by the express transportation service with a package tailored to the characteristics of the product allowing it to retain its freshness.
